Pelargonium da Collezione : Tulip Flowered

I Pelargoniums Tulip esistono in 15 colori. Fra questi vi sono anche varietà a crescita compatta che possono essere classificati come Dwarfs. Altre, come il Pink Pandora, arrivano anche a 70/80 cm di altezza. Il fiore non si apre mai completamente e per questo ricordano dei piccoli mazzi di tulipani. La parte interna dei petali è quasi sempre più scura dell'esterno e presentano foglie molto lucide e piuttosto spesse. Tendono a sbiadire i colori dei petali se tenuti al sole nelle ore più calde. A volte tendono a ritornare alla conformazione del fiore originario della varietà Fiat: bisogna asportare subito le ombrelle in mutazione.
I primi ibridi sono stati derivati in America (da varietà Fiat) da Robert e Ralph Andrea nel 1966, introdotti in Europa solo intorno al 1985.

The Pelargoniums Tulip exists in 15 colors. Among these there are also some compact varieties that can be classified as Dwarfs. Others, such as Pink Pandora, arrives at 70/80 cm in height. The flower never opens completely, so they remember small bouquets of tulips. The inner part of the petals is almost always darker exterior and leaves are very shiny and pretty thick. They tend to fade the colors of the petals if kept in the sun during the hottest hours. Sometimes they return to the original shape of the flower of the variety Fiat: you have to remove immediately the umbels in mutation.
The first hybrids were raised in America (from Fiat variety) by Robert and Ralph Andrew in 1966, introduced in Europe only around 1985.
